Mark holds a degree in Criminology from Simon Fraser University and a law degree from UBC, where he won the Lidstone, Young, Anderson Prize in Municipal Law and the McCarthy Tetrault Diane Mason Memorial Prize in Contract Law. He clerked in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, articled with global law firm Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP (now known as Dentons LLP). He practiced law with Taylor Jordan Chafetz LLP, a Vancouver law firm that had deep ties with UBC, and Harris & Company LLP, a Vancouver law firm with an outstanding reputation in litigation, labour, and employment and which merged with Taylor Jordan Chafetz LLP. Mark has been a partner since 2011, first at Taylor Jordan Chafetz LLP and later at Harris & Company LLP. Mark has left the partnership to come to UBC.
Mark brings outstanding experience to UBC in a broad range of practice areas. His portfolio of files includes commercial transactions, academic agreements, regulatory compliance, litigation, and administrative law.
