Liz Moxham (B.Comm, LLB, LLM, CFRE) is legal counsel in the Office of the University Counsel at The University of British Columbia since 2012 primarily supporting the Development and Alumni Engagement portfolio (fundraising). She was called to the BC bar in 1995. Prior to joining the Office of University Counsel, Liz spent 17 years supporting the charitable sector first in the Tax Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers with a focus on charitable giving, next as Senior Philanthropy Officer in Gift and Estate Planning at BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, and then as Manager of Development in the Faculty of Medicine at UBC. Liz is secretary of the Charities and Not-For-Profit Law subsection of the Canadian Bar Association, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and its Government Relations Committee. Liz has published and been an invited speaker on a variety of topics related to charitable giving. Liz is also an active volunteer at West Point Grey Academy, having acted as the chef de mission of WPGA’s second cookbook in 2011 and is a member of the Board of the West Point Grey Academy Foundation. Liz holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Melbourne, Australia, Bachelors of Commerce and Law degrees from the University of Alberta, and has a Certified Fund Raising Executive designation.
