Courtney is an alumnus of the University of British Columbia, receiving her Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 1998 and a second Bachelor (Anthropology) in 2006. Courtney worked at UBC’s Museum of Anthropology during the extensive renewal project, before joining the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC as an FOI Assistant in 2009. She worked as an FOI Officer at the Law Society of BC in 2012 and the College of Dental Surgeons of BC in 2013. Courtney returned to UBC and joined the Office of the University Counsel in 2014.
