Completing COI / SCOI Declarations

A Conflict of Interest (COI) declaration is a document that brings conflicts, or situations that might lead to conflicts to the attention of your supervisor.

UBC has two significant annual declaration systems.

  • The RISe database has collected COI declarations from faculty members since 2005.
    • To access the RISe database, click here.

  • The Staff Conflict of Interest (SCOI) system was introduced in 2018 to collect declarations from staff with specific management responsibilities. The system was transitioned to Workday in 2022.

Some departments may have alternative or additional declaration requirements. Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions.
